Dr Subhash Gupta

Dear Colleagues,

Nothing can replace "in person" interaction during scientific meetings. With that thought in mind and the COVID-19 pandemic largely behind us, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 8th edition of CLBS symposium in New Delhi.

The theme for this year’s symposium is “HPB Oncology and Liver Transplant”

Management of HPB malignancy still remains a complex undertaking partly due to the anatomical location of the tumor and partly due to late presentation. Underlying cirrhosis further complicates the matter. During the last 2 decades Liver Transplant has become the standard of care for HCC in cirrhotic patients who present with tumors within the accepted criteria. In the last few years the survival benefit of liver transplant has been extended to HCC beyond the traditional criteria and non HCC malignancies such as Cholangiocarcinoma, Colorectal liver metastasis and Neruoendocrine tumors.

Numerous controversies still persists in this newly emerging field of Transplant oncology. Therefore we at CLBS have chosen this topic as the theme for this year’s CLBS symposium. We expect some very interesting discussions and debates that would be of interest to surgeons, physicians, medical and radiation oncologist, Intensivists and radiologists.

We therefore request you to block your dates for the 8th CLBS symposium and would be honoured and delighted, if you could participate in person and encourage the rest of your department to attend the meeting.

Yours sincerely,
Dr. Subash Gupta
